SMI.London 2026 was the 4th annual conference dedicated to Soft Mist Inhalers (SMIs).  We were delighted to see so many of you in London on Weds 10th June 2026 to build the future of SMIs. This is a group effort, and we all have a role to play to achieve this.

SMI.London 2026 was thoughtfully curated to focus on innovations from academia and early phase research.

Soft mist inhalers now represent nearly half of the portable inhaler market, reflecting their growing importance in both clinical and sustainability contexts. Recognized for their exceptional aerosol performance, deep-lung deposition, and reduced carbon footprint, SMIs are redefining standards in inhaled drug delivery. Their adaptability, user-friendly design, and strong compatibility with biologic therapies make them a vital platform for the next generation of respiratory and systemic treatments.

SMI are the essential “green inhaler”, ahead of pMDIs, nebulisers. They are also the tool for early phase clinical studies and ensure the smoothest transition to finished dosage form and market launch.

The speakers and session chairs at SMI.London 2026 are key opinion leaders with extensive experience in the field of inhaled drug delivery. We were most grateful they accepted to speak and chair sessions.

This event was made possible thanks to the support of the Exhibitors, Speakers and our Media Partners; we are most grateful for their support. You are able to discover their services by clicking on the links below.

SMI.London 2026 happened last week and was spectacular. Thank you to Suzanne @GetAhead and her team for a flawless organisation and everyone who participated for helping us to make it such a success, from the discussions in the room to the ideas shared on stage, SMI.London 2026 once again showed the growing momentum behind SMIs: as a technology platform, a therapeutic opportunity and a field ready for wider collaboration.

The main theme this year was academic research. It was engaging and made me dream of the next steps for Merxin Ltd’s own MRX004.

The day’s discussions sparked new ideas for therapies, formulations, devices, services and development programmes, we will be happy to continue the conversation with you. MRX004, Merxin Ltd’s soft mist inhaler platform, is designed to support both small molecules and biologics, across hydrophilic and hydrophobic formulations. It provides a practical bridge from early-stage development through to clinical and commercial delivery. As Clive Page said in his talk: think of your finished product, its Target Product Profile and work backwards to design the formulation, device, and clinical studies. Think of your vision for your product.

More information is available at www.MRX004.com.

Thank you once again for being part of SMI.London 2026. The conversations, collaborations and ideas shared are exactly why this community matters. We look forward to keeping the momentum going, and to seeing where soft mist inhalation goes next.
